Chase Elliott wins at Pocono; Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch disqualified

When Denny Hamlin crossed the finish line first on Sunday,

ahead of Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch, he believed he had secured his sixth victory at Pocono Raceway

Busch's and Hamlin's winning vehicles were both identified by NASCAR to have materials in the front facia (the car's nose) that were not permitted by NASCAR regulations.

Due to the disqualification of both Hamlin and Busch, Chase Elliott, who finished in third place, was proclaimed the winner.

"But the problem was the same in both cars. Sadly, they failed to meet the standards needed to pass inspection."

Elliott now leads Chastain by 105 points with five races left in the regular season after accidents prevented Ross Chastain and Ryan Blaney from finishing the race.

But after the race on Sunday, Elliott had little desire in talking about the regular-season championship.
