The Dutchman performed admirably in qualifying as Formula One made its first trip back to Japan and the Suzuka Circuit since 2019.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who will start from second and third on the grid, respectively, indicate that Ferrari will be out to ruin the fun.

10 minutes after the suspension of the restart: Rain is currently falling very heavy, so a restart might not happen right away.

Race control decided to halt the restart as the vehicles were getting ready to re-enter the course.

5 minutes before the restart: Max Verstappen will start from pole position, followed by Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez, another member of the Red Bull squad.
