F2 France: Iwasa takes maiden series win

Ayumu Iwasa dominated the FIA Formula 2 feature race at Paul Ricard to take his maiden series victory by over eight seconds.

Despite being overtaken by Jack Doohan off the line for the lead,

the DAMS driver regained it at the North chicane on lap one and went on to establish a sizable lead over his competitors.

The Japanese driver made no mistakes in the second stage and held off Theo Pourchaire to capture his first series victory with the help of a swift pit stop.

despite a close call with the Virtuosi driver spinning on lap 20, passing Doohan on lap 15 and keeping the Australian behind him.

Doohan, who started in fourth place, took the lead off the line and up the inside, beating Logan Sargeant and Iwasa.

On lap 10, Pourchaire made a pit stop for the hard tyres and came out in 12th place, leading the group of pitters.
