NFL player Damon Arnette arrested in Miami Beach

Former cornerback with the Las Vegas Raiders, Damon Arnette, was reportedly detained early on Tuesday morning in South Florida on three charges.

Arnette was initially stopped Monday night in Miami Beach and discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended licence

he was given a ticket but was unable to avoid being arrested at his subsequent stop, which occurred four hours later, according to TMZ Sports, citing police records.

Although they "permitted another licenced driver to drive the vehicle from the traffic stop," officers reportedly told Arnette he wasn't allowed to drive until his licence was reinstated.

On Tuesday, shortly after 3 a.m., Arnette was arrested and charged with possessing a controlled substance, possessing drug paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle while his licence was suspended.

Since the Raiders selected Arnette in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, he has had difficulty on and off.

Three days before to his dismissal from the Raiders, he was also accused of hurting a woman in a car accident back in 2020.
