Russell Wilson, Broncos agree to terms on five-year, $245M contract extension

The Denver Broncos announced on Thursday that Wilson had reached an agreement on a five-year contract extension with the organisation through the 2028 campaign

Wilson's new contract is for $245 million, of which $165 million is guaranteed, according to sources cited by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

The extension locks the quarterback to Denver for the following seven years; his original contract, which he signed in Seattle, has two seasons left on it.

Wilson stated during a news conference on Thursday. "I see this as a marriage

and I want to be able to conclude my career here while you want to be here for a very long time," she said.

The idea was always to extend Wilson after parting with players and draught picks to acquire him from the Seahawks in March.

I'd like to thank Greg Penner and our entire ownership group for the support and resources to get this long-term extension done
