Tottenham sign Middlesbrough defender on five-year contract in £20m deal
Djed Spence joined Tottenham in a deal that might increase to £20 million with add-ons after impressing on loan at Nottingham Forest in the Championship previous season
helping them advance to the Premier League; Spence has a five-year deal that runs through June 2027.
The right wingback signed a contract with Spurs that will pay an initial sum of £12.5 million
plus an additional sum of £7.5 million in performance-related add-ons until June 2027 after passing a physical at Hotspur Way on Friday
Last year, the 21-year-old made 46 loan appearances for Nottingham Forest,
and there was a chance he could have signed a long-term contract with Steve Cooper's team this summer.
But Spence has become Spurs' sixth major signing of the season, following the arrivals of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster,
